PLEASE
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FULLY BEFORE COMMENCING
KIT CONTENTS. POWER SUPPLY, 4 WAY TERMINATED CABLE, WIRES, RUBBER GROMMET, HEATSHRINK, IEC MAINS
LEAD.
TOOLS REQUIRED. SOLDERING IRON, PLIERS, M4 ALLEN KEY,
SCREW DRIVER, SOLDER, ELECTRIC DRILL, 10mm BIT.
Configure the BorderPatrol for 420V
operation (yellow wires to pins 4 and 6 of the GZ37)
DISCONNECT THE AMPLIFIER FROM THE MAINS BEFORE
BEGINNING. If the unit has been used recently,
allow sufficient time for the power supply capacitors to
discharge before beginning (5 mins is usually
sufficient).
REMOVE THE GZ37 RECTIFIER VALVES AND DO NOT REPLACE THEM AFTER THE CONVERSION IS COMPLETE. REPLACING THEM
AFTER THE
CONVERSION HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT COULD CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE AMPLIFIER.
Make a note of the position of the other valves and remove them.
Remove the base plate of the amp.
Locate the 68R 6W Green Enamel resistors on the side of each of the large PCB's and short them out
using the wires provided.
Connect the two resistors together using the long link wire provided. Drill a 10ml hole in
the back panel of the amp and fit the rubber grommet.

BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE ANY INTERNAL
COMPONENTS WHILST DOING THIS.
Feed in the umbilical cable and secure in place with the cable ties provided.
Connect the red wire to one of the legs of one of the 68R resistors.
Connect the green wire to the star earth point located in the centre of the amplifier.
Locate the two twisted pairs of yellow or white wires that connect to the pins on the
front inner corners of the large PCB'S. On one pair of terminals only, bare back the
insulation/sleeving and connect the yellow wire to one of the pins and the blue wire
to the other pin. Make sure that all other wire connections to these points are
maintained.
Dress the new cables tidily and replace the base plate. Replace the valves (not the
GZ37's) and connect the umbilical lead to the new off-board supply. Replace the
mains lead to both units. Switch on the amplifier as usual. Your amplifier should now
be ready to play.
